Soo-Hyuk Kim (Gang Won, KOR) finished 5-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim defeated Australia's Ian Palangio 7-6, then went on to lose 5-3 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). Kim responded with a 11-0 win over Viktor Kim (Almaty, KAZ). Kim won 9-4 against Kenny Thomson (Naseby, NZ), then won 6-5 against Randie Shen (Taipei, TPE) and 9-8 against Jialiang Zang (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

Kim earned 7.500 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Pacific-Asia Curling Championships, moving up 11 spots the World Ranking Standings into 36th place overall with 38.408 total points. Kim ranks 41st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.075 points earned so far this season.
