MacDougall went on to lose 6-3 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). MacDougall lost 5-4 to John Epping (Toronto, ON) where MacDougall responded with a 4-3 win over Chad Stevens (Halifax , NS). MacDougall went on to lose 4-1 against Zang in their final qualifying round match.

MacDougall earned 5.009 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 79th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 39.103 total points. MacDougall ranks 45th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 35.487 points earned so far this season.
