Doug Small (Clairmont, AB) lost 7-6 to Layton Tremblay (Fort St. John, BC) in the Final of the Peace Tour Championship - Challenge, held January 8 - 10, 2016 in Sexsmith, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Small won 1-0 over Donald Dumont (Girouxville, AB) in the semifinals

Small finished 2-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Small lost 1-0 to Dumont, then responded with a 1-0 win over Bob Cooper (Grande Prairie, AB). Small won 1-0 against Cliff Kostiuk (Nampa, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week of the event schedule, Small did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Small ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
