Laycock went on to lose 7-5 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB). Laycock lost 4-3 to Bruce Korte (Saskatoon , SK) where Laycock responded with a 3-0 win over Stjerne. Laycock won 7-6 against Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
