Ross Whyte (Perth, SCO) finished 3-3 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whyte lost 7-5 to Magnus Ramsfjell (Jar, NOR), droppimg another game, 6-5 to Cameron Bryce (Stirling, SCO) where Whyte responded with a 7-3 win over James Pougher (Hawarden, WAL). Whyte won 7-2 against Bruce Mouat (Stirlng, SCO), then won 6-5 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). Whyte went on to lose 10-5 against Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

Whyte earned 2.796 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 31 of the event schedule, Whyte did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Whyte ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
