Chang-Min Kim (Uiseong, KOR) won 4-2 over Dennis Bohn (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the KKP Classic, held September 30 - October 2, 2016 at the Fort Rouge Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Kim won 6-1 over Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2016 KKP Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and won 6-5 over Daley Peters (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 KKP Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;
 
Kim finished 3-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim defeated Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) 1-0, then won 4-3 against Bohn and 3-2 against Steen Sigurdson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the KKP Classic Championship title, Kim earned 19.845 world rankings points along with the $2,500CDN first prize cheque, moving up 28 spots the World Ranking Standings into 71st place overall with 51.985 total points. Kim ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 40.132 points earned so far this season.
