Dan Schally (Madison, WI) finished 6-3 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schally lost 7-6 to Robert Melville (Wayland, MA), then responded with a 8-4 win over Todd Ussatis (Bismarck, ND). Schally went on to lose 9-8 against Darrick Kizlyk (Denver, CO). Schally responded with a 6-5 win over Hunter Clawson (Duluth, MN). Schally won 8-2 against Greg Persinger (Fairbanks, AK), then won 6-5 against Greg Wilson (Chicago, IL) and 6-4 against Paul Mendoza (Burbank, CA). Schally won 8-5 against Fred Maxie (Seattle, WA). Schally went on to lose 6-3 against Sidney Schroeder (Houghton, MI) in their final qualifying round match.
