Rachel Homan (Ottawa, CAN) won 8-3 over Anna Sidorova (Moscow, RUS) in the Final of the CPT World Women's Curling Championship, held March 18 - 26, 2017 in Beijing, China.
Homan finished 11-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan defeated Bingyu Wang (Harbin, CHN) 9-3, then won 6-2 against Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER) and 10-9 against Sidorova. Homan won 7-5 against Nina Roth (Blaine, USA), then won 8-6 against Alina Paetz (Zurich, SUI) and 9-8 against EunJung Kim (Uiseong, KOR). Homan won 8-2 against Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO), then won 6-4 against Anna Hasselborg (Stockholm, SWE) and 9-3 against Anna Kubeskova (Prague, CZE). Homan won 8-5 against Diana Gaspari (Cortina d'Ampezzo, ITA), then won 8-4 against Lene Nielsen (Hvidovre, DEN) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the CPT World Women's Curling Championship Championship title, Homan earned 74.946 world rankings points, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -984.726 after improving upon their best so far this season. Homan ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 455.229 points earned so far this season.
