Landan Rooney (Mississauga, ON) won 7-4 over Josh Leung (Whitby, ON) in the Final of the North Durham U18 Mens Invitational, held January 14 - 15, 2017 in Port Perry/Uxbridge, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Rooney won 5-4 over Christopher Inglis (Toronto, ON) in the semifinals
 
Rooney finished 2-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Rooney defeated Emerson Steffler (Toronto, ON) 5-4, then went on to lose 5-3 against Hazen Enman (Whitby, ON). Rooney responded with a 7-5 win over Tyler Tummon (Burlington, ON). Rooney went on to lose 3-2 against Leung in their final qualifying round match.
