After advancing directly to the championship game, Hailey Armstrong (Ottawa, ON) lost 5-3 to Kristen Streifel (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Canadian Junior Womens Championship, held January 21 - 29, 2017 in Victoria, British Columbia.
 
Armstrong finished 10-0 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Armstrong defeated Krysta Burns (Sudbury, NONT) 9-4, then won 4-3 against Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC) and 14-3 against Sadie Pinksen (Iqaluit, NU). Armstrong won 6-5 against Samantha Crook (Fredericton, NB), then won 6-4 against Quebec's Camile Boisvert and 9-6 against Alyssa Meger (Whitehorse, YK). Armstrong won 5-3 against Kristin Clarke (Chester, NS), then won 5-4 against Lauren Lenentine (Cornwall, PEI) and 6-2 against Kaitlyn Jones (Regina, SK). Armstrong won 7-3 against Streifel in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Canadian Junior Womens Championship, Armstrong take home 16.795 world rankings points. For week 24 of the event schedule, Armstrong did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Armstrong ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
