In their opening game, Ackerman lost 5-4 to Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN), droppimg another game, 6-5 to Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB) where Ackerman responded with a 7-5 win over Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT). Ackerman went on to lose 7-5 against SooHyuk Kim (Gangwon, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Ackerman earned 1.235 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, dropping 3 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 82nd place overall with 43.145 total points. Ackerman ranks 128th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.540 points earned so far this season.
