Heidt won 5-2 against Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB). Heidt went on to lose 8-4 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Heidt earned 2.470 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 42nd place overall with 115.39 total points. Heidt ranks 51st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 22.407 points earned so far this season.
