Kyle Foster (Winnipeg, MB) qualified for the 2017 DEKALB Superspiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-2 against Northern Ontario's Dylan Johnston. of the 2017 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada;

Foster finished 5-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Foster defeated Daryl Bachalo (Morris, MB) 7-0, then won 5-4 against Carl deConinck Smith (Rosetown, SK) and 9-5 against Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI). Foster went on to lose 7-1 against Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB). Foster lost 6-5 to Daley Peters (Portage la Prairie, MB) where Foster responded with a 6-1 win over Joshua Friesen (Morris, MB). Foster won 7-2 against Tanner Lott (Winnipeg Beach, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Foster earned 11.087 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the DEKALB Superspiel, moving up 86 spots the World Ranking Standings into 173rd place overall with 19.426 total points. Foster ranks 135th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.521 points earned so far this season.
