CHAMPION: Hajkova/Paul Wins 2017 Oberstdorf International Mixed Doubles Cup

Zuzana Hajkova/Tomas Paul (Prague, CZE) won 9-3 over Daniela Rupp/Kevin Wunderlin (Zug, SUI) in the Final of the Oberstdorf International Mixed Doubles Cup, held September 7 - 10, 2017 in Oberstdorf, Germany.

Hajkova/Paul finished 4-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hajkova/Paul defeated Noelle Iseli/Rene Iseli (Gstaad, SUI) 8-3, then went on to lose 7-3 against Stephanie Wild/Daniel Gubler (Aarau, SUI). Hajkova/Paul responded with a 9-4 win over Eniko Szabo/Balazs Foti (Budapest, HUN). Hajkova/Paul won 7-5 against Andrea Schoepp/Rainer Schoepp (Garmisch, GER), then won 8-3 against Andrea Fischer/Holger Langenau (Chemntz, GER) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Oberstdorf International Mixed Doubles Cup Championship title, Hajkova/Paul earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $1,171CDN first prize cheque. For week 5 of the event schedule, Hajkova/Paul did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
