Bill Stopera (Ardsley, NY) is set to play Benj Guzman (Wayland, MA) in the Final of the GNCC Mens Club Playdowns, held December 14 - 17, 2017 at the The Country Club in Brookline Village, United States.

Stopera finished 4-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stopera defeated Alex Tschumakow (Brookline, MA) 7-3, then won 9-3 against Jeremy Hozjan (Charlotte, NC) and 8-3 against Frederick Dubberley (Plainfield, NJ). Stopera won 10-9 against Dan Machold (Schenectady, NY) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week of the event schedule, Stopera did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Stopera ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
