Kayte Gyles (Surrey, BC) finished 4-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gyles defeated Kesa Van Osch (Nanaimo, BC) 7-3, then won 6-4 against Sarah Wark (Chilliwack, BC). Gyles went on to lose 6-4 against Randi Ludwar (Kelowna, BC). Gyles responded with a 8-6 win over Patti Knezevic (Prince George, BC). Gyles won 7-3 against Wark in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the BC Scotties Open Event #2, Gyles take home 7.838 world rankings points, moving up 19 spots the World Ranking Standings into 130th place overall with 24.691 total points. Gyles ranks 134th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.550 points earned so far this season.
