Murphy finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murphy defeated Mike Flemming (Halifax, NS) 10-2, then went on to lose 7-6 against Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS). Murphy responded with a 8-2 win over Greg Power (Halifax, NS). Murphy won 7-1 against Dacey, then won 12-6 against Kendal Thompson (Halifax, NS) and 8-3 against Chad Stevens (Halifax, NS). Murphy went on to lose 7-6 against Stuart Thompson (Dartmouth, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Nova Scotia Deloitte Tankard Championship title, Murphy earned 11.550 world rankings points. For week 23 of the event schedule, Murphy did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Murphy ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
