Hess lost 9-3 to Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) where Hess responded with a 9-3 win over Yves Hess (Zug, SUI). Hess won 7-0 against Lottenbach, then won 11-9 against Schwaller. Hess went on to lose 7-6 against Schwaller. Hess lost 8-7 to Attinger. Hess lost 8-6 to Hess. Hess lost 7-4 to Pfister in their final qualifying round match.

Hess earned 1.817 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 156th place overall with 31.562 total points. Hess ranks 119th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 27.917 points earned so far this season.
