Dustin Armstrong (Perth, AUS) finished 4-2 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Armstrong defeated Ian Gagnon (Melbourne, AUS) 9-2, then went on to lose 7-5 against Dean Hewitt (Sydney, AUS). Armstrong responded with a 11-2 win over Gagnon. Armstrong won 10-6 against Hugh Millikin (Sydney, AUS), then won 7-1 against Geoff Davis (Melbourne, AUS). Armstrong went on to lose 10-2 against Hewitt in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Australian Mens Curling Championship, Armstrong take home 10.313 world rankings points, dropping 197 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 197th place overall with 10.313 total points.
