Colin Dow (Ottawa, ON) won 6-2 over Mark Homan (Chelsea, QC) in the Final of the Moosehead Classic Open, held October 5 - 8, 2018 at the RCMP Curling Club in Ottawa, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Dow won 8-4 over Nathan Martin (Oshawa, ON) in the semifinals of the 2018 Moosehead Classic Open in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; and won 9-3 over Martin Patry (Buckingham, QC) in the quarterfinals.
 
Dow finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dow defeated Jenine Bodner (Iqaluit, NU) 13-2, then won 10-3 against Jason Chang (Ottawa, ON) and 10-2 against Stephen Watson (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Moosehead Classic Open Championship title, Dow earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 8 of the event schedule, Dow did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Dow ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
