Kristy Watling (Winnipeg, MB) lost 6-3 to Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Morris SunSpiel, held September 14 - 16, 2018 at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Watling won 9-6 over Terry Ursel (Morris, MB) in the semifinals

Watling finished 4-0 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Watling defeated Hayley Bergman (Morris, MB) 8-2, then won 11-0 against Patsy Gregoire (Winnipeg, MB) and 5-2 against Beth Peterson (Winnipeg, MB). Watling won 9-2 against Einarson in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Morris SunSpiel, Watling take home 17.102 world rankings points along with the $1,200CDN prize, moving up 19 spots the World Ranking Standings into 62nd place overall with 52.260 total points. Watling ranks 37th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 17.102 points earned so far this season.
