Shuster finished 5-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shuster lost 4-3 to Qiang Zou (Beijing, CHN), then responded with a 8-3 win over Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO). Shuster won 5-3 against Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, CAN), then won 6-5 against Zou and 7-4 against Mouat. Shuster won 7-3 against Gunnlaugson in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Curling World Cup Omaha Championship title, Shuster earned 58.946 world rankings points along with the $36,623CDN first prize cheque. For week 17 of the event schedule, Shuster did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Shuster ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
