Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS) finished 2-4 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kovaleva lost 7-5 to Tracy Fleury (Winnipeg, CAN), droppimg another game, 6-5 to Jamie Sinclair (Chaska, USA). Kovaleva lost 6-2 to Min Ji Kim (chuncheon city, KOR). Kovaleva lost 7-6 to Fleury where Kovaleva responded with a 9-4 win over Sinclair. Kovaleva won 7-4 against Kim in their final qualifying round match.

Kovaleva earned 5.652 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 16th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 211.007 total points. Kovaleva ranks 8th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 184.292 points earned so far this season.
