To advance to the championship game, Gedak won 8-6 over Carson Ackerman (Saskatoon, SK) in the semifinals of the 2018 Moose Jaw Cash Spiel in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 8-2 over Mike Armstrong (Regina, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Moose Jaw Cash Spiel in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada;
Gedak finished 3-1 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gedak defeated Steven Howard (Regina, SK) 8-4, then won 6-2 against Shawn Meyer (Regina, SK). Gedak went on to lose 8-6 against Kleiter. Gedak responded with a 10-2 win over Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Moose Jaw Cash Spiel Championship title, Gedak earned 10.666 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque. Gedak move up 10 spots after posting a net gain of 7.21 points improving upon their best 6 results so far this season, ranking 90th overall with 45.792 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Gedak ranks 90th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 25.053 points earned so far this season.
