Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR) lost 6-5 to Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI) in the Final of the Aberdeen International Curling Championship, held March 14 - 17, 2019 in Aberdeen, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Walstad won 8-7 over Robin Brydone (Perth, SCO) in the semifinals of the 2019 Aberdeen International Curling Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland; and won 6-4 over Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) in the quarterfinals.
 
Walstad finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walstad lost 8-2 to De Cruz, droppimg another game, 6-4 to Magnus Ramsfjell (Oslo, NOR) where Walstad responded with a 5-4 win over Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO). Walstad won 5-0 against Hamish Gallacher (Dumfries, SCO), then won 12-5 against Marc Muskatewitz (Baden Baden, GER) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Aberdeen International Curling Championship, Walstad take home 32.219 world rankings points along with the $4,034CDN prize. Walstad move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 28.243 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 18th overall with 207.999 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
