Steffen R. Mellemseter (Oppdal, NOR) finished 1-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mellemseter lost 9-2 to Mathias Braenden (Lillehammer, NOR), then responded with a 7-4 win over Johan Hostmaehlingen (Lillehammer, NOR). Mellemseter went on to lose 7-4 against Markus Skogvold (Hedmarken, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Mellemseter earned 1.325 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 26 of the event schedule, Mellemseter did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
