Timofeev finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Timofeev defeated Russia's German Doronin 5-4, then went on to lose 5-3 against Joel Retornaz (Pinerolo, ITA). Timofeev responded with a 5-4 win over Eduard Veltsman (Tallinn, EST) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Red Square Classic, Timofeev take home 8.150 world rankings points along with the $3,322CDN prize. For week 29 of the event schedule, Timofeev did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
