Cotter finished 5-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cotter lost 9-8 to Paul Cseke (Victoria, BC), then responded with a 11-2 win over Josh Kennelly (Salmon Arm, BC). Cotter won 8-1 against Neil Dangerfield (Victoria, BC), then won 8-4 against Sebastien Robillard (New Westminster, BC) and 7-3 against Tyler Tardi (Langley, BC). Cotter went on to lose 7-6 against Richard. Cotter responded with a 7-3 win over Robillard in their final qualifying round match.
Cotter earned 10.413 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the BC Mens Curling Championship. Cotter gained -15.076 points improving upon their best 5 events, though dropped 9 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 57thplace overall with 67.512 total points. Cotter ranks 69th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 42.023 points earned so far this season.
