Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) won 8-5 over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup, held May 3 - 8, 2022 in Olds, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Gushue won 6-5 over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2022 KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup in Olds, Alberta; and won 6-3 over Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2022 KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup in Olds, Alberta;
Gushue finished 3-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated John Epping (Toronto, ON) 7-4, then went on to lose 5-4 against Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB). Gushue responded with a 8-2 win over Ryan Jacques (Edmonton, AB). Gushue went on to lose 8-5 against Koe. Gushue responded with a 7-4 win over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup Championship title, Gushue earned 74.354 world rankings points along with the $30,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 23.01 after improving upon their best so far this season. Gushue ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 576.877 points earned so far this season.
