Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN) lost 6-5 to Eunjung Kim (Gangneung, KOR) in the Final of the Stu Sells Tankard, held October 6 - 9 at the Barrie Curling Club in Barrie, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Yoshimura won 7-2 over Lauren Mann (Timmins, NONT) in the semifinals of the Stu Sells Tankard in Barrie, Ontario, Canada; and won 6-5 over Susan Froud (Alliston, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the Stu Sells Tankard in Barrie, Ontario, Canada;

Yoshimura finished 3-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yoshimura defeated Fay Henderson (Stirling, GBR) 8-6, then won 6-2 against Kaitlin Jewer (Peterborough, ON) and 5-3 against Courtney Auld (Thornhill, ON). Yoshimura went on to lose 6-1 against Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Stu Sells Tankard, Yoshimura take home 22.000 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN prize. Yoshimura move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 7 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 19th overall with 160.766 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
