Linnea Nilsson/Simon Olofsson (Uppsala, SWE) finished 7-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Nilsson/Olofsson defeated Katrina Gaidule/Roberts Buncis (Riga, LAT) 6-4, then won 10-9 against Mintaute Jurkute/Paulius Rymeikis (Vilnius, LTU) and 11-1 against Evita Regza/Renars Freidensons (Riga, LAT). Nilsson/Olofsson won 7-4 against Akvile Rykove/Konstantin Rykov (Vilnius, LTU), then won 9-4 against Alexandra Adam/Zoltan Varkoly (Budapest, HUN) and 7-5 against Gaidule/Buncis. Nilsson/Olofsson won 7-2 against Cathy Vivien Vahi/Marten Padama (Tallinn, EST) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the WCT Latvian Mixed Doubles Curling Cup 1 Championship title, Nilsson/Olofsson earned 3.750 world rankings points along with the $600CDN first prize cheque. For week 18 of the event schedule, Nilsson/Olofsson did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Nilsson/Olofsson ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
