To advance to the championship game, Laplante/Gibeau won 6-5 over Melissa Adams/Alex Robichaud (Moncton, NB) in the semifinals of the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fredericton Doubles Cashspiel in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada; and won 8-7 over Jenna Campbell/James Carr (Fredericton, NB) in the quarterfinals. of the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fredericton Doubles Cashspiel in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada;

Laplante/Gibeau finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laplante/Gibeau lost 7-5 to Campbell/Carr, then responded with a 10-2 win over Shannon Tatlock/Daryell Nowlan (Fredericton, NB). Laplante/Gibeau won 9-5 against Kendra Lister/Daniel Lister (Fredericton, NB). Laplante/Gibeau went on to lose 8-6 against Claudie Beaulieu/Yannick Pelletier (RiviÃ¨re-du-Loup, QC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fredericton Doubles Cashspiel Championship title, Laplante/Gibeau earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $1,600CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 806th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 6.188 after improving upon their best so far this season.
