Spalding/Skidmore Runner-Up at Portugese Curling Cup

Ashley Spalding/Chris Skidmore (Lisbon, POR) lost 12-2 to Antonieta Martins Ethier/Victor Santos (Lisbon, POR) in the Final of the Portugese Curling Cup - Mixed Doubles, held October 13 - 15 in Barrie, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Spalding/Skidmore won 11-5 over Andra Barbosa/William Barbosa (Lisbon, POR) in the semifinals

Spalding/Skidmore finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Spalding/Skidmore defeated April Seixeiro/Steve Seixeiro (Lisbon, POR) 9-5, then went on to lose 9-8 against Ethier/Santos. Spalding/Skidmore responded with a 9-5 win over Barbosa/Barbosa in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Portugese Curling Cup - Mixed Doubles, Spalding/Skidmore take home 2.750 world rankings points. For week 12 of the event schedule, Spalding/Skidmore did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Spalding/Skidmore ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
