Wakaha Kawamura (Obihiro, JPN) lost 5-4 to Yuina Miura (Nayoro, JPN) in the Final of the Japan Intercollegiate Curling Championship, held November 29 - December 3 at the Kitami Curling Club in Kitami, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Kawamura won 9-1 over Aika Seo (Sapporo, JPN) in the semifinals of the Japan Intercollegiate Curling Championship in Kitami, Japan, Japan;
Kawamura finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kawamura defeated Shiori Nishinaga (Sapporo, JPN) 12-2, then went on to lose 8-6 against Miura. Kawamura responded with a 9-7 win over Nana Noguchi (Kitami, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Japan Intercollegiate Curling Championship, Kawamura take home 2.750 world rankings points. For week 19 of the event schedule, Kawamura did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kawamura ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
