Ken Kanai (Karuizawa, JPN) qualified for the Kanto Curling Championships playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-5 against Japan's Ryohei Maruyama. of the Kanto Curling Championships in Karuizawa, Japan, Japan;

Kanai are currently 1-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kanai lost 7-6 to Japan's Hiromitsu Kuriyama, then responded with a 11-1 win over Japan's Masanaga Yonetani. In their next game, Kanai plays.

Kanai earned 1.500 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Kanto Curling Championships. For week 20 of the event schedule, Kanai did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
