Lawes finished 7-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lawes defeated Shaela Hayward (Carman, MB) 12-2, then won 10-1 against Kristy Watling (East St. Paul, MB) and 8-2 against Emma Jensen (Winnipeg, MB). Lawes won 12-1 against Emily Cherwinski (Winnipeg, MB), then won 8-6 against Peterson and 10-2 against Zoey Terrick (Winnipeg, MB). Lawes went on to lose 7-5 against Jolene Campbell (Winnipeg, MB). Lawes responded with a 8-4 win over Kate Cameron (East St. Paul, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Manitoba Scotties presented by Rocky Mountain Equipment Championship title, Lawes earned 22.500 world rankings points, remaining in 11th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 15 after improving upon their best so far this season. Lawes ranks 10th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 178.875 points earned so far this season.
