To advance to the championship game, Purcell won 10-2 over Paul Flemming (Truro, NS) in the semifinals of the Occean Contractors Nova Scotia Tankard in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada;

Purcell finished 3-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Purcell defeated Glen MacLeod (Halifax, NS) 10-5, then won 6-5 against Flemming. Purcell went on to lose 7-5 against Manuel. Purcell responded with a 7-5 win over Stuart Thompson (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Occean Contractors Nova Scotia Tankard, Purcell take home 5.500 world rankings points. For week 26 of the event schedule, Purcell did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 34th to 35th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 110.110 total points. Purcell ranks 30th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 95.438 points earned so far this season.
