Andrew Symonds (St. John's, NL) won 7-5 over Greg Smith (St. John's, NL) in the Final of the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard, held January 23 - 28 at the Remax Centre in St. John's, . To advance to the championship game, Symonds won 6-3 over Ryan McNeil Lamswood (St. John's, NL) in the semifinals of the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard in St. John's;

Symonds finished 7-2 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Symonds defeated Dylan Hancock (St. John's, NL) 11-2, then won 8-5 against Smith and 7-2 against Harold Walters (St. John's, NL). Symonds went on to lose 8-7 against McNeil Lamswood. Symonds lost 7-5 to Nathan Young (St. Johns, NL) where Symonds responded with a 6-2 win over Trent Skanes (St. John's, NL). Symonds won 5-4 against Parker Tipple (St. John's, NL), then won 8-4 against Dave Thomas (Port-aux-Basques, NL) and 7-6 against Young in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard Championship title, Symonds earned 3.750 world rankings points, moving up 14 spots the World Ranking Standings into 131st place overall with 18.000 total points. Symonds ranks 160th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 9.250 points earned so far this season.
