Jane DiCarlo (Crapaud, PEI) won 9-8 over Amanda Power (Cornwall, PEI) in the Final of the PEI Scotties, held January 25 - 28 at the Crapaud Community Curling Club in Crapaud, Canada. To advance to the championship game, DiCarlo won 4-2 over Amanda Power (Cornwall, PEI) in the semifinals of the PEI Scotties in Crapaud, Prince Edward Island, Canada;
DiCarlo finished 3-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, DiCarlo defeated Darlene London (Montague, PEI) 9-2, then won 9-6 against Power and 6-1 against Tammy Dewar (Cornwall, PEI). DiCarlo went on to lose 7-6 against Melissa Morrow (Crapaud, PEI). DiCarlo lost 9-3 to Sophie Blades (Summerside/Cornwall, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the PEI Scotties Championship title, DiCarlo earned 3.750 world rankings points, moving up 20 spots the World Ranking Standings into 140th place overall with 11.319 total points. DiCarlo ranks 125th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.000 points earned so far this season.
