Rob Retchless (Kent, ENG) finished 7-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Retchless defeated Richard Hills (Kent, ENG) 14-3, then won 8-3 against Owen Rees (Kent, ENG) and 8-4 against Ian Gasson (Kent, ENG). Retchless won 7-3 against Richard Cooper (Preston, ENG), then won 6-3 against Andrew Reed (Kent, ENG) and 8-3 against Fraser Clark (Kent, ENG). Retchless won 9-2 against Clark in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the English National Curling Championships Championship title, Retchless earned 3.750 world rankings points, moving up 12 spots the World Ranking Standings into 120th place overall with 17.250 total points. Retchless ranks 120th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 17.250 points earned so far this season.
