Timothy Marin (Sherwood Park, AB) won 8-3 over Kenan Wipf (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Curling Alberta U20 Provincials, held March 6 - 10 at the Drayton Valley Curl Club in Drayton Valley, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Marin won 5-4 over Terren Algot (Sherwood Park, AB) in the semifinals of the Curling Alberta U20 Provincials in Drayton Valley, Alberta, Canada;
Marin finished 5-3 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Marin defeated Nolan Duncan (Calgary, AB) 9-6, then went on to lose 8-6 against Zach Davies (Edmonton, AB). Marin responded with a 8-5 win over Lowell Whittmire (Castor, AB). Marin won 10-7 against Kinley Burton (St. Albert, AB), then won 8-5 against Peter Hlushak (Edmonton, AB) and 8-7 against Ben Kiist (Edmonton, AB). Marin went on to lose 8-2 against Wipf. Marin lost 5-3 to Algot in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Curling Alberta U20 Provincials Championship title, Marin earned 3.750 world rankings points, moving up 362 spots the World Ranking Standings into 255th place overall with 3.750 total points. Marin ranks 261st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.750 points earned so far this season.
