Freeman finished 6-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . Freeman won 10-4 against Timothy Marin (Sherwood Park, AB), then won 8-3 against Wipf. Freeman went on to lose 8-5 against Ian Deschene (Sudbury, NO). Freeman responded with a 9-6 win over Jack MacFayden (Summerside, PEI). Freeman went on to lose 8-2 against Calan MacIsaac (Truro, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the New Holland Canadian Junior Championships , Freeman take home 4.500 world rankings points.
