Widmer finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Widmer defeated Ekaterina Telnova (Moscow, RUS) 6-3, then won 6-5 against Claire Hamilton (Edinburgh, SCO) and 6-5 against Alina Pavlyuchik (Minsk, BLR). Widmer won 9-7 against Tene Link (Tallinn, EST) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Tallinn Ladies International Challenger Championship title, Widmer earned 13.616 world rankings points along with the $1,778CDN first prize cheque, moving up 42 spots the World Ranking Standings into 112th place overall with 25.936 total points. Widmer ranks 70th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 22.673 points earned so far this season.
