Ontario's Sherry Middaugh won 5-3 over Ontario's Cathy Auld in the Final of the StuSells Toronto Tankard, held October 7 - 10, 2016 at the High Park Club in Toronto, . To advance to the championship game, Ontario's Sherry Middaugh won 4-2 over Mary-Anne Arsenault (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2016 StuSells Toronto Tankard in Toronto; and won 6-3 over Ontario's Jacqueline Harrison in the quarterfinals.

Ontario's Sherry Middaugh finished 4-0 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ontario's Sherry Middaugh defeated Ontario's Chrissy Cadorin 4-3, then won 6-1 against Erin Macaulay (Ottawa, ON) and 8-1 against Janet McGhee (Uxbridge, ON). Ontario's Sherry Middaugh won 7-5 against Hailey Armstrong (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the StuSells Toronto Tankard Championship title, Ontario's Sherry Middaugh earned 32.104 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 15th place overall with 242.823 total points.
