Gushue lost 7-3 to Jacobs responding with a 6-4 win over John Morris (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Canadian Open Championship title, Gushue earned 40.000 world rankings points along with the $25,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 3th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 342.133 total points.
