To advance to the championship game, Hansen won 6-3 over Wade White (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2016 McKee Homes Fall Curling Classic in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada; and won 10-6 over Tyler Pfeiffer (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 McKee Homes Fall Curling Classic in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada;
 
Hansen finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hansen defeated Chad Dahlseide (Calgary, AB) 7-1, then went on to lose 6-1 against Thomas Usselman (Calgary, AB). Hansen responded with a 3-1 win over White. Hansen won 6-4 against Jeremy Harty (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the McKee Homes Fall Curling Classic Championship title, Hansen earned 14.778 world rankings points along with the $3,200CDN first prize cheque, moving up 27 spots the World Ranking Standings into 87th place overall with 43.738 total points. Hansen ranks 34th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 38.928 points earned so far this season.
