Chelsea Carey (Calgary, AB) won 10-5 over Michelle Englot (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Meridian Canadian Open, held January 16 - 21, 2018 in Camrose, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Carey won 6-4 over EunJung Kim (Uiseong, KOR) in the semifinals of the 2018 Meridian Canadian Open in Camrose, Alberta; and won 8-5 over Laura Crocker (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Meridian Canadian Open in Camrose, Alberta;
 
Carey finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey lost 6-4 to Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB), then responded with a 9-1 win over Kim. Carey won 9-2 against Jamie Sinclair (Blaine, USA), then won 8-1 against Englot in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Meridian Canadian Open Championship title, Carey earned 83.449 world rankings points along with the $30,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 7th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 63.145 after improving upon their best so far this season. Carey ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 359.490 points earned so far this season.
