Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB) won 7-4 over Chelsea Carey (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2, held September 5 - 10, 2017 in Regina, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Einarson won 9-1 over Binia Feltscher (Flims, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Regina, Saskatchewan; and won 6-4 over Robyn Silvernagle (North Battleford, SK) in the quarterfinals.
Einarson finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Einarson defeated Nancy Martin (Saskatoon, SK) 9-1, then won 6-2 against EunJung Kim (Uiseong, KOR). Einarson went on to lose 5-4 against Nadine Scotland (Calgary, AB). Einarson responded with a 6-1 win over Nina Roth (Blaine, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 Championship title, Einarson earned 46.113 world rankings points along with the $10,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 12th place overall with 238.477 total points. Einarson ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 72.775 points earned so far this season.
