Murray finished 2-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murray defeated William Nordine (Kalamazoo, MI) 9-2, then won 5-3 against Trevor Kraus (Kalamazoo, MI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Kalamazoo Classic Championship title, Murray earned 6.598 world rankings points along with the $1,326CDN first prize cheque, moving up 397 spots the World Ranking Standings into 269th place overall with 6.598 total points. Murray ranks 132nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.598 points earned so far this season.
