Kristy Lewis (Richmond, BC) finished 3-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lewis defeated British Columbia's Kathy Smiley 10-6, then won 11-8 against Japan's Yukako Tsuchiya. Lewis went on to lose 7-3 against Jody Maskiewich (Richmond, BC). Lewis responded with a 7-1 win over British Columbia's Kristie Moore. Lewis went on to lose 7-0 against Pat Sanders (Vancouver, BC). Lewis lost 8-6 to Japan's Ayumi Ogasawara in their final qualifying round match.
